In November of 2017 I took my Janome 6600 in for service. I had used Common Thread in the past and was happy with their work. This is no longer the case. After 2 1/2 months and not much conmmunication I went to pick up my machine to take it else where. They could not find all the parts and I know I was not sent home with what I brought in. Very uphappy and will Never return.

I am a teacher and have over 12 Bernina sewing machines. I purchased one from A Common Thread. I later needed parts for my other Bernina machines. They sold me non-authentic Bernina bobbin casings and told me that they had been using them for years and that they worked just fine. Not true. They jammed repetitively and now I'm stuck with them. I tried calling several times for over a month and never received a return call from the owner. Unfortunately, I care for my elderly father in Oregon, so I am only there every few months. I will never return, they are not honest.

I've been a very regular customer for a little over a year now. I'd heard of the store from a couple of friends who purchased Living Social coupons to attend Beginning Sewing classes, and they enjoyed the experience. It just so happened that the chiropractor I was referred to happens to be located immediately next door to this sewing store. After one of my chiro appointments last year, I popped into A Common Thread and mentioned the Living Social deal. They were willing to sign me up for a Beginning Sewing class for the same price as the online deal. That was my first time walking in the store, and I've since taken MANY of their class series and one-off lessons, I've purchased a Janome sewing machine from them, and I'm currently enrolled in an Intro to Quilting class that I love! The fabric selection is wonderful and their variety of sewing notions and supplies has also been more than adequate for the projects I've been working on. The ladies (and gentleman) who staff the store are all very warm, inviting, and willing to help and answer questions. They also offer sewing machine repair and servicing in-house, though I haven't personally made use of those services yet. I would highly recommend this store and the many classes they offer on an ongoing basis! Support your small business owners and SHOP LOCAL!

I took a sewing class here recently and it was so much fun! Learned a lot of real, down to earth sewing skills and plan on signing up for more classes in the future. Great work space, and very friendly staff and teachers!
