I love Rubys, they helped me with a previous dog in socialization and with my current dog learning good manners. Every staff member blows my mind in how much they know and care about dogs. Can't express how valuable this place is for us. Thank you!!

Had an appointment to take my dog in for an intake. I paid the money upfront for it which was $30. It snowed the day that we were supposed to take my dog in but the roads were fine; especially at the time of our appointment which was 1:30 PM. We drove out there only to find the door was locked and nobody was there. When I called their phone number, I got their voice mail saying that they were closed due to the weather. I had gotten no phone call or message letting me know that my appointment was canceled. I really wished that they would have let me know because I wasted my time driving out there. Then when I called to have my money refunded, the girl on the phone was not apologetic at all, she kept explaining how they didn't want to endanger the employees and that they follow the Portland Public school system. It was upsetting because 1. I don't have kids so how would I know that 2) I wasn't upset about the fact that they were closed. Of course I wouldn't want any employees to be "in danger". A simple "I am sorry" would have sufficed but I didn't even get that. I was planning on leaving a 1 star review but then Tessa came on the phone and saved the day. She was super aplogetic-didn't give any excuses or try to make me feel like a terrible human being. Thank you Tessa. She changes my review to 2 star.
