Old Town Brewing has been in the Alberta arts district neighborhood for a long time. This place has great food, beer, and service. The pizza is fantastic, the crust is dense, but also light, the said has a great blend from the xhesse pizza, vegetarian and the meat. Quality pizza throughout. Fast service and great atmosphere. Huge patio and second floor mezzanine for rental. Average prices, vegetarian options and disability friendly. Vegetarian options: Multiple vegetarian pizza options Kid-friendliness: What kid does not like pizza, no lemonade, not a lot of juices. All carbonated. Parking: Lots of parking, never had an issue Wheelchair accessibility: First floor, spacious, easy to move around.

This was great PIZZA! The crust was probably the best so far in #PDX. The bartender - Kevin - so cool dude. Very nice and friendly, answered all my questions about the ingredients and. . . Wait for it . . . Turned me into a Mushroom based Ale and a Cucumber based Lager. I chose the Council Crest Cucumber Lager and what a fantastically refreshing Beer. He told me the sell their beers in a 32 oz Crowler - which he explained was a Can Growler. Now, that's going to keep cool in the cooler at the beach and drifting down the Washougal River this summer. The Mushroom Ale was tasty indeed - it uses Candy Cap Mushrooms in with the one additional Hop. Wow - Incredible Beer and really great crust - NYC taste in my mouth still - Pizza. Now, as y'all know - I'm a vegetarian. So, can't review the meaty varieties of the pizza's - that's up to all of you. But - I will say this - I always start with the Cheese and go from there. As you can see from my pics - the Cheese was so damn tasty, the crust rocked my world - I ordered a Veggie - and was even more delighted. Veggie slice of the day had Bell Peppers, Red Onions, hint of Pepperoncini (did not over power it) and Cheddar cheese as toppings. Usually I shy away from Cheddar as a topping but this time I was really impressed. The always have Cheese and Pepperoni slices daily, said Kevin. But he did tell me they cycle through the meaty choice and the Veggie Choice of the day. In addition - as I still wanted more of that amazing NYC tasting pizza crust - I think I will order one of their whole pie choices or build my own next time. That way I can bring some home for my roommate and/or try it cold when I wake up in the middle of the night craving more. Tasty taste buds I know are going to be craving this for some time to come. Highly suggest this place - Highly! Tip Kevin good now - ya hear?

Update: January 26, 2023 OTB has brought back their Shanghai'd IPA on draft! It's also available for takeout in single or four-pack cans. Update: July 11, 2022 Bummed out, OTB has discontinued making their Shanghai'd IPA on draft. It's currently only available by single cans. The bartender said at their downtown location it's a slow mover, the NE location it's very popular. Hopefully, they'll make a compromise and, at least, bring it back to their NE MLK location. Update: February 18, 2020 I've returned twice, once with the wife, since my first visit and both times have not been disappointing. The second time, I needed a bite for an early dinner, but short on cash. Ordered the Garlic Knots, 3 for $4 and a 12 oz. glass of Shanghai'd IPA. I did, after all, wanted to try their Flagship, multiple metaled beer. The IPA was everything one would want with a solid English-style IPA. Nice with citrus undertones and just enough hops to satisfy, but not over the top. The garlic knots were the bomb. Each the size between a golf and tennis ball, with lots of garlic and house made marina and ranch style dipping sauces. Definitely a good deal on the cheap. Third time, took the wife for pizza and we were both impressed with the quality and flavor of the pie. We had the large House Special for $26. It's a more traditional meat style pizza, and while it was quite satisfying and very delicious, it would be considered a medium size pizza anywhere else. Their pizzas are on the pricey side when comparing size and price to other pubs that serves pizza. I washed it down with a glass of Upper Left IPA. Old Town Brewing on MLK has become a new date night for the wife and me, or when she doesn't know hat to make for dinner. Overall, it's a good vibe for lunch, dinner or a brew after work or out on the slopes. Especially when they get fireplace going on chilly afternoons or evenings. Below is from my first visit sometime in early January 2020. Stopped in on my way grocery shopping it's never a good Idea to shop on an empty stomach and got a bite to eat. Normally, I don't drink any alcohol or beer during the day, but decided to make an exception and ordered their flagship beer Shanghai'd IPA, unfortunately it was flat. Like the CO2 needed to be fixed flat. I then ordered their Upper Left IPA, which was better, but the manager and bartender insisted on fixing the CO2 problem and brought me an Upper Left IPA once the problem was resolved. Points off for the CO2 problem, points added for taking care of the problem right away and great customer service! I ordered their Milano sandwich which was good, it came with kettle chips, dill pickle spear and an Italian and blue cheese dipping sauce(?) that had at least a quarter inch of oil floating on top of the blue cheese. Which was easily dispatched by stirring the sauce with a chip and dunking the sandwich as I consumed it. The Milano was very delicious and would recommend anyone to give it a try. Their lunch menu includes pizza, pizza by the slice, sandwiches, salads, limited pasta dishes and cheese bread and garlic knots. They have a full bar and a good selection of their own brews. Everything is reasonable priced and from what I could tell of the pizza, very good as well. There is also a patio on the west side of the business for when the weather is nice and you want to drink and dine al fresco. Not sure about children, the lounge area where I sat didn't allow kids, but a woman had a child with her in a booth near the brewing area and there is second floor seating. Best bet is to call and find out what their underage policy is. As for me, I will be returning with the misses for another round of brewskis and maybe pizza on my next visit.
