I lived here from 2015 - 2017. Management was super nice and on top of any concerns I had. LOVED the creek living, got to see tons of wildlife, enjoyed the patio and location was perfect! Rent was reasonable and I received a full refund of my deposit!

Nice quiet complex with attentive management and maintenance. The apartment had the usual older building quirks, but they seem to put a lot of effort into upgrading and were always on hand if anything went wrong.The best thing about the place is the creek that runs through the middle and all of the wildlife it attracts!

This is an overall really nice place to live. Joey, the property manager, is very welcoming, responsive, and clearly cares about the residents who live there. All the maintenance requests I had, and there weren't too many, were responded to quickly. The maintenance guys were always nice, too. The neighbors are polite and generally keep to themselves. The layout of the apartments is spacious with plenty of storage. For what you get, a nearly 1000 sq ft 2 bedroom with a wall mounted AC unit in the living room and in-unit washer/dryer, it is a steal (I paid $1235/month) in a neighborhood where you could easily spend $1400 on a 500 square foot studio or 1 bedroom in one of the newer complexes. The balcony that overlooks the creek is really a nice bonus, too. All that said, there are a couple downsides. The kitchen is on the small side, and the place isn't totally "modern," but neither of those were big deals to me. Also, don't leave valuables in your car and make sure to lock it. I don't know of anyone having windows broken in the area, but I know of unlocked cars being pilfered through and things taken, but honestly, you'd have that (or worse) pretty much anywhere in the city. And there is off-street parking, I just never parked in it because it would have meant parking further from my apartment.Bottom line: If you don't care about modern, which only translates into expensive, this place is a steal in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to SE via 99. And I probably didn't emphasize enough how nice the balcony over the creek is.I'd give 4.5 stars if it were an option, but I'll round up, because I really liked living there.

This is a very rarely awesome Portland apartment complex. I mean... I guess all of the new $2500 luxury high rise apartments are probably pretty great if you're in that income bracket, but for the average person who isn't gentrifying the city, the Crystal Shores Apartments are a fantastic find. The only reason I marked it down a star is because it is an older structure, so there can be problems. This winter was really rough, and the maintenance team took nearly two months to fix a problem in the walls, leaving our bathroom trashed. It was very frustrating. But the apartment manager is an absolute sweetheart who is very attentive and kind, the location is awesome, and the creek is AMAZING in the summer. We get nutrias, geese, blue herons, and the occasional muscovy duck right in our own backyard. Very cool.
