UPDATE: You’ll notice that their single five star review is from the actual employee who delivered such poor service (see below). Classy, guys! I’d dig out the yard with a teaspoon before I’d trust these guys to locate so much as a fresh gopher hole in my yard. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR I chose to go with these guys because they quoted me a lower price than the national outfit, and they were local. I like to keep my money local. First, when I called to schedule, I told them I needed a septic line located, from my bathroom to my septic system. They asked me some questions about my house and then said, "no problem." They did not say "you will need to spend extra because we need specialized equipment to locate what you're asking for." They said, "okay!" When they came out, Cody told my boyfriend that, based on the position of the clean out, the pipe ran under the house. He ran no camera, he did not test for a wire in the pipe. He looked and said, "no problem." Then, he filled out paperwork putting it in writing: "misc lines located-backyard cleared for small trenching." Even underlined "no issue w/ location." So, we scheduled the trenching. You'll never guess what happened! We cut the septic line. Over a holiday weekend. Guess that's what we get for trying to save a few bucks! When I called to ask for a refund, I was told it would be "impossible for anyone" to locate that line in the first place (you know, the one I asked them to locate? why did they come out at all, I asked?), and THEN told that they'd made it clear they never found it. Cody tried to say he explained clearly when here that he couldn't locate the line we'd hired them to locate. (Remember that "no issue w/ location"? That's sure where I would have put that, if it were true--instead, he was "very confident" that the line wasn't in the backyard at all.) When I told them that I wouldn't have hired a trencher unless I'd been told -- both by Cody at the time, and on the paperwork they actually filled out Cody said (and then later, when I tried again to get them to make this right, the receptionist doubled-down), tried to tell me "we meant every line except that line." Bottom line: they don't stand by their work, they'll treat you poorly if they make a mistake, and they will take jobs they can't do just to snag some of your cash. Spend a few extra bucks and go with the place that offers a guarantee. After all I had to spend thanks to their poor job of locating, I would have saved money going with the national chain.
