My first visit was nothing to boast about. The atmosphere isn’t as welcoming and comforting as you would want it to be. My counselor asked me questions out of a book or the computer and made no real attempt to connect to me or my responses to his questions. I didn’t feel heard or that there was any real intent on wanting to focus on getting me the help I needed. He was just like, “Oh, you’re stressed? Here’s a bunch of papers stapled together that talk about what you already know.” The whole experience just left me feeling disappointed. He didn’t even introduce himself when he first came out to the lobby to meet me, so I didn’t even know the guys name. And his office felt like just that…an office. There was nothing even remotely comforting or welcoming about that room. I wouldn’t recommend this place for the mere fact that you’re not going to come out of there feeling like you took a step in the right direction.

The counselors at this place are terrible. A lot of people (myself being one of them) will not just automatically open up and sometimes need prompting from the counselor. And that’s literally their job. Well the lady I would see would ask me how I’m doing, I would say alright and she would send me on my way. Even if I was upset or crying she never gave me any actual advice she basically just sat there. I think our longest session was about 15 minutes. However the women who prescribed my meds over video chat was very helpful and I felt that I got more therapy from her than my actual counselor. Another thing I hate about this place is the fact that you have to see a counselor for a month before they will set you up with a psychiatrist. Some people can not go a month without medication I just think that’s crazy!
