What a fun trip! The fishing was fantastic and we brought back two coolers of frozen fish. We highly recommend the VIP package. Everything is paid for, except the booze. Definitely value for the money. Every night they took us to whatever restaurant or tourist attraction we cared to experience. Lu Lu and her staff are just down right fun to be with. Having a staff that could speak English definitely helped navigate some of the issues we needed to address with the hotel, which on the whole was a very upscale hotel. I took a day off from fishing and Lu Lu took me around to shop. The town of La Paz is very picturesque and the people are friendly. This was my second visit here and the fourth for my husband and it is likely that we will return again!

Awesome trip! My girlfriend and I scheduled a trip that hit in the middle of the COVID-19 lockdown. Baja Pirates (Leonard) was extremely accommodating and allowed us to reschedule twice. A big thank you! We took the leap of faith and went to La Paz 10-16 March 2021. And, it was a great experience. We fished 3 days and brought 50 lbs of yellowtail, grouper and snapper home. It tastes great! They filet, vacuum seal and freeze the fish, so it is ready to take home. Our skipper was Memo and we suggest you ask for him as your skipper. We plan to go back in November and will ask for Memo. He finds the fish. Gabriel was our escort who drives you from the hotel to the launch area and back. He also facilitates in getting your COVID test and provides you details of the town of La Paz. Wow, the fish tacos are A+ along with the breakfast at the hotel. We stayed at the Marine Waterfront Hotel and the water views were beautiful. LooLoo is a partner, runs the Baja Pirates shop at the hotel and makes sure your hotel stay is pleasant. Yep, you get to know everyone. In summary, you have to give it a try... best trip ever and we look forward to visiting again in November! John & Leigh.

Absolutely one of the best parts of our La Paz vacation. It was my first time fishing and I am so glad we went out with Captain Pico. He is hands down the best!!! I would book him anytime and hopefully will get a chance to go fishing with him when we return. He was very knowledgeable and patient. He gave us and our children the best experience and helped our children catch tons of fish. On top of a great Experience they cleaned and vacuum sealed all of our fish and delivered it to our condo frozen the second day, ready for us to fly it back to San Diego. Excited for dinner! Thank you again capt Pico and all the crew at Baja Pirates

Before coming to La Paz I was skeptical about fishing with Baja Pirates and I wasn’t sure I was going to be fishing with a cut rate sports fishing company. Boy was I wrong! The service that we received was superb. I have been fishing in Baja for many years but never in Baja Sur so I did not know what to expect. All I knew is I wanted everyone in my family to catch their first fish. The boats that they used are of good quality. We fished in a 23ft ponga which was comfortable for 2 adults and 2 children. They have a great live bait operation that you pay $30 for roughly 150 mackerel and sardine mix. I highly advise anyone that plans to fish with BP to pay the $30, it is well worth it. It took an hour to get to the fishing ground once we got bait. We slow trolled live sardines while also chumming live sardines. All of a sudden we saw cabrilla thrashing the water chasing the sardines we threw out. The experience for my kids was mind blowing. We finished our day on another island and it was nonstop fishing and before we knew it our cooler was full. On top of the vast variety of species we caught BP took our fish and filleted and vacuum sealed it. They also made sure to properly label every pack with the name of the fish and brought it to our condo the next day fully frozen and ready for us to take on the plane back to San Diego. We got to fish with Captain Pico and this gentleman is an experienced fisherman who knows the ends and outs of these waters. He is great to take a trip with especially if taking your family. He made sure that my children caught fish and he tried his best to meet our needs which he superseded. I feel like fishing is a universal language and Capt Pico and i spoke the language fluently. I hope I have the chance to fish with him again when I come back in July.

I have now fished twice with the Baja Pirates. Both times have been excellent! The first time we fished was with my dad who's health was not good and was in a wheelchair and needed oxygen full time. Leonard and his crew went out of their way to help my dad and make sure he was comfortable and all his needs were met. They even found extra oxygen tanks to accommodate him and make our fishing trip possible. The second and most recent trip my wife and I took our 4 kids ranging in ages from 7-14 out, also creating a different set of needs for our kids. Luis was our captain both days, and also on the previous trip with my dad. Luis went out of his way to make sure my kids had a great time and worked very hard to make sure we got into fish every day. Needless to say if/when we return to the La Paz area we will definitely be fishing with the Baja Pirates from now on. Thanks to all who made some great trips for us!!
