        Heffy is a gifted and talented artist 🎨. I cannot even begin to describe, explain (?) the pieces he creates. You must see them to understand what I'm trying to say. To put it as simply as I can, there is nobody on this planet that can do what this gentleman does, he is a true artist.

His talent is completely over the top and though his website highlights many of his creations, you can't thoroughly appreciate his skill unless you see them in person. If you find yourself on the Oregon Coast, make it a point to visit Dan's fantastic gallery in Florence. Dan's super nice and friendly and enjoys talking and answering questions about his pieces.

      Heffy's Gallery

      I create wood carvings that are lifelike with my attention to detail being second to none. All of my pieces are each unique, one-of-a-kind creations hand carved from a single piece of wood (unless stated otherwise), and often inspired by the aquatic wildlife found here on the Oregon coast. I get great pleasure in hunting for burls of driftwood washed up on the local beaches because that wood can arrive from anywhere in the world and I never know what kind of wood it will be. I never stain any of my carvings, instead I polish the colors out of them or burn them in with one of the nearly 300 specialized carving tools I have modified or created over the past 40+ years as an artist.
