I moved to Eugene in early May 2022 and was assigned by default to Elizabeth Graham by Applegate, my primary health provider (PCP). Hearing nothing from her, I visited her office to request status. They had done no intake nor effort to list me as a patient, then handed me a 12 page questionnaire. I completed it on the spot and informed the front office that I had life critical medication that needed refilling within 30 days. They responded that Ms Graham could not see me for at least 45 days. When I expressed my concern, the receptionist suggested I find another PCP. I promptly did so.

I had been a client of this medical practice for a couple of years up until COVID-19. When I decided to return to work and needed help with access to medication management the new psychiatrist that took over after the previous one retired refused to continue my medication management for ADHD. Out right said that he would not give me a prescription for it, claiming "there are better options." He did not ask me what I had tried besides this, he did not have a discussion about why I thought it was necessary, just claimed there are better options and eluded to my age being a factor in this decision. This guy has no idea how ADHD works. I have been taking this medication off and on for years. Before his appointment I had not taken any for months because I was not working do to COVID-19. I was trying to take classes through the state for a certification. There are 12 total. That week I was able to take 3 of them. I have a few pills left over from before and the fallowing week I took one to see what the difference was. I was able to complete 3 classes in one day even with the distraction of have to find a new psychiatrist in addition to the courses that I was taking. It is currently estimated that 65% of people with ADHD benefit from stimulate medication. Many need it as part of the tool kit that they use to do there jobs and provide for their families and they rely on psychiatrists to understand the benefits of this medication. It has side effects but those side effects are not as bad as failure, lose of jobs, lose of promotional opportunities, disciplinary actions, and many other consequences that can happen if you are not able to focus. This used to be a place that you could go to that had trained and competent staff that would work with clients and help them build the tool kit they need to be successful in life. Now it is run by people that want to dictate there bias and agenda on to you without concern for the harm and consequences that it causes. This is not how medicine is supposed to work. I will not be returning to this place for any services in the future and I do not advise that anyone else do either. There is a severe lack of options that are available but there are options and I advise you look in to all of them before you look at this place.

This place is a joke my daughter's appointment was at 3pm today we get called back at 2:45 and because i was on the phone dealing with the pharmacy our appointment gets canceled untill friday I will be switching my daughter to a different place for her medical needs!!

Dr. Allcott MD is a wonderful person very knowledgeable, understanding, compassionate. The staff is very professional. I don't feel judged or looked down on. All an all I would recommend Applegate to anyone. Thanks
