Mel's Furniture Restoration does beautiful work! Frank restored a chair that had been in my family for nearly 80 years. It was found by my father after a powerful hurricane hit the coast of Maine in 1938. He climbed the tree where it had landed - and it has been known in my family everafter as "the hurricane chair". Frank identified the wood as Cuban Mahogany, and dated it around 1900. His restoration work made it glow as it must have done at the turn of the century! Thank you, Frank!

Hello, I'm a local upholsterer , and have collaborated with Frank on many projects over the past 20 yrs. he is by far the most experienced/knowledgeable craftsman I have come across , not only with wood finishes of all types , but the inner construction and rebuilding of all types of antiques . Frank has restored several tables for me and my family, all exquisitely beautiful. He obviously loves fine old furniture, and he works with detailed care to make an old piece as beautiful as it was first created.

When we moved from California to Bend in 2005 we sustained a unbelievable amount of damage to our furniture, a veritable demolition derby. Since most of our furniture are original antiques that have been in my Family for centuries and many of museum quality, we were resigned to send the furnitures to New York or San Francisco to an accredited restorer. Frank was recommended by an antique dealer and much to our delight and surprise he turned out to be the best expert and knowledgeable restorer we could have found anywhere. Frank has an incredible passion and feeling for his profession and this is reflected by this meticulous work and respect for old furniture such as ours.
