This is a second review following a very lengthy 5 star one a couple of years ago. Dr. Kempf has an independent practice that is well run. His office manager Sandy is very capable and helpful. I have been seeing Dr. Kempf regularly for almost 6 years. I am happy with his demeanour and he has served me well professionally speaking. I have enjoyed many good conversations with him and have been impressed with his skill and knowledge as a dentist. I recommend him highly.

Dr. Kempf is a wonderful dentist! Friendly, professional and caring I love the way my teeth look and feel after our visits. His office is always well kept, staff are courteous and genuine.

I have been seeing Michael R. Kempf, DDS for dental care since late 2011-early 2012. He has replaced old fillings, added new and very challenging ones, whitened my teeth and cleaned them regularly. He has also performed minor oral surgery on a deciduous tooth that somehow lasted over half a century. There are indeed many other dentists locally yet I steadfastly refuse to try them. There is no need. Dr. Kempf has provided me the highest level of care of any dentist I have seen in the U.K. or USA and I have lived and worked in four different states across this country. I am a patient of his and not a personal friend. I have no conflict of interest in writing this review. I am also a former medical school faculty member in three departments (adult neurology, pediatrics and neurosurgery) and division chief within one (neurosurgery). Care of patients is my number one priority. I have taught medical students, residents, fellows, nurses, physician assistants and other professors around the country about neurology, pain and headache management in both adults and children. Clinical diagnostics skills and bedside manner are extremely important to me; hence I lecture and also write chapters on such matters in medical textbooks. In my opinion, Dr. Kempf is personable, accommodating and very knowledgeable. He is also thorough. He utilises state of the art equipment but it is his skill as a dentist with respect to out of the ordinary problems that makes him unique. More so than the majority of his peers, he has an understanding of the biomechanics of 'the bite' that makes him an expert in alleviating temperomandibular joint disorder (TMD), a painful headache-inducing condition more commonly referred to by the layman as "TMJ". I have visited his clinic laboratory too and watched him work with models and prosthetic devices, modifying or fixing them without needing to send them out for correction. Importantly, he also knows his limits and advises patients on the best way to take care of a problem even if it means seeing a colleague of his elsewhere. One needs self confidence to do that. I have never been rushed through an appointment and he has been fair and willing to help out with an occasional problem covered under his own warranty. I trust him. His staff are courteous and professional and his office is always very clean. He will do his best to provide one an appointment as quickly as possible. His office manager, Sandy, is likewise very friendly and willing to help in whichever way that she can. Together, they make a fine team. They run on time. I highly recommend Dr. Kempf to anyone with straightforward to complex problems concerning their teeth and bite. He will provide a level of care that is holistic and he will do so with a smile. We are lucky to have a dental physician of his caliber in Ashland, Oregon. He has taught me a lot and I am most grateful for the care that I have received from him. Jeremy Goodwin, MS, MD
