Each year, the Inola Chamber gets better and stronger. I can definitely say that my business, Trigger-Switch Marketing, has grown because of the connections I have made through networking at meetings and events. The more involved you are, the more benefit you receive from the organization.

Inola is a great small town, especially for raising kids. Most of the people are wonderful, pleasant and always willing to lend a helping hand. There is only one thing that holds the town back from being almost perfect, and that is the Inola Police Department, specifically after the sun has set. I am so tired of running to Speedy's, going to Harp's after choir practice, or running to Dollar General after football practice and being afraid of seeing headlights from a white SUV. if I do see them, it gets so much worse. They always whip around from whichever direction or street, and gun their vehicle to the tail of my vehicle, then they stay as close to my tailgate as possible without hitting it until we arrive at my porch. They don't just leave, but slowly drive up the street, stop and wait a bit before heading out. Of course unless, their terrifying and reckless driving has made me nervous enough to make a mistake like swerving for a pothole or major winds push me a little over, one of my brake lights looks a little dim, I didn't signal far enough ahead of my turn, all of which is caused because I am completely distracted by the headlights on my tail instead of the street in front of me. When I find out the night before school that one of the kids needs something, the only time I can get it is after they are asleep and somebody is home to be there for them. Unfortunately, that time is usually pretty late. I am still paying off those fines in both money and time, but the fear of the headlights of a white SUV with the mostly invisible 'Police' on the side is the worst feeling. I don't think the citizens of this lovely town deserve it. I can bring up the scary drive I have to take anywhere around town and sometimes even out of town, and get 2 or 3 stories starting with "I know...." about themselves, a friend or family that had similar experiences, so I know it is not just me that has been treated this way. What can we do?
