Baldwin's Tire & Lube Mechanic Shop

on December 16th my husband took our truck in to get exhaust work done. on December 22nd we called to check the status, still not done. Fast forward to Tuesday January 10th, 2023. Almost a month later, we put eyes on our truck which has been sitting in the same spot almost the whole time. Wednesday January 11th Rachel Baldwin calls me and tells me that our truck was stolen from their shop and a police report had been made. Naturally we immediately report to our insurance because our truck is God only knows and we are the owners of the vehicle. our insurance tells us that Baldwin's is responsible and that we need to go through their insurance. Chris Baldwin says wait 24 hours, we waited 48 and on Friday the 13th Rachel Baldwin calls me and says that they located our truck in the exact same condition. (MY HUSBANDS TOOL BELT WAS THE ONLY THING TAKEN) up to that point there was no mention of their tools being stolen, there was no mention of a 3500 transmission being stolen or damaged. Rachel Baldwin's own post specifically stated that a truck was stolen in Chandler with no mention of tools, material and or transmission. she told me that Lincoln county was dropping off a cruiser and so they were in a friendly conversation about how our truck was located. I called investigator Hand who had no knowledge of where my truck was and stated that I needed to contact OKC PD. I call OKC PD and locate my truck and they tell me that I can go pick it up. the problem is Rachel and Chris Baldwin have the only key to our truck. I call and ask Rachel if they still have the key, SHE HANGS UP ON ME! Chris calls me back and gives me a lockbox story and says that the key was put in the lock box because the shop was closed and the key was taken! Chris tells me to call Patriot auto and that they will have a key cut for me. I called and requested a new key that cost 22.75. We drive from Southeast 59th to Chandler and bring the two documents that they require which was our license and title. (proof of ownership) When we get there we find that Chris Baldwin had already picked up our key. I am furious at this point. They contact Chris have him bring back our key and admit that they f***** up because they required proof of ownership for me but because of their great relationship they did not require proof of ownership from Chris Baldwin and Rachel Baldwin. well it is now the 21st we have been able to recover our truck. Chris and Rachel did not want to report anything to insurance yet they have waited for things to play out I assume so that they can report their stolen tools to insurance. THEY WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL OF THE COST WE ARE OUT and we have a truck that we cannot drive because he refuses to come and get his gauges. SO WE ARE STILL OUT A TRUCK!!!

We broke down in Chandler across the street from this shop. It was about 5:15 when we broke down, but decided to drive across the street to see if they could help us. They closed at 5:00 and were happy to help. They filled up our transmission fluid and sent us on our way. Not only did they help us after hours, but they also did it at no charge. They were able to give us more information on what is wrong with our vehicle than any dealership has in the last year of dealing with this issue. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop. It might not look like much, but I have never had a problem with Baldwin's the mechanics constantly over perform and are very professional. The prices are more than fair. I have never and I mean never been over charged for the service performed. It's a hidden gem.
