My daughter has been attending Premiere Dance for the past 14 of her 18 years. Premiere has become a valuable family member to us. Our daughter was always in recreational dance and was never treated with any less value than the competition dancers that invested three times the money and time into dance. We were always treated fairly and respectfully. Paula, the owner, understood fully our family's situation and valued our business no matter how small. Last fall, my daughter at age 17 decided she wanted to advance to competition line, and Paula helped us work out a payment plan we could deal with. One month into the season, our daughter was suddenly diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, cancer of the lymph system. Thankfully, her treatment only lasted four months, but during that time Premiere was an element, my daughter could not have lived without. The energy and support we experienced from premiere dance and the competition family were a blessing in her life. She lost her hair, she lost the glow in her skin, and she lost her muscle tone. One thing she didn't lose was hope and strength, and a lot of that was due to Premiere. The teachers and the families supported us in every way possible. We could never have imagined the gifts they gave us to help our daughter get through the experience. They understood a teen girl's desire to be a beautiful dancer, no matter her circumstances. They found ways to adjust practice sessions and choreography to suit us. The whole staff was very flexible. In the spring, my daughter recovered in time to attend competitions, and they were patient and gentle with her, even when she may have brought down the team. Premiere Dance is a welcoming, loving school that supports dancers of every age, color, gender, and ability level. When poisonous elements come attacking, like certain cable television show genres, Paula, the owner, gracefully ignores them, and carries on. She never allows the girls to criticize or be cruel to one another. I hope my daughter will be healthy enough to give me a grand daughter some day, and I hope Premiere Dance is still there so her little girl can dance too.
