Lakewood Professional Building

As a Lakewood resident I am ashamed to call this place our hospital. Every single person inside of this building is incompetent, lazy and rude. The security to the doctors to the nurses never have I ever had a good experience here. The security guards think they own the place while the doctors and nurses play house in the back. Every time I come here theres some sort of drama going on in the ER. Security on the other hand needs an ego check. I dont know if its Rent-A-Cop syndrome or just pure laziness. This place needs to change. I dont know why theyre called an emergency room anytime something extreme walks in that door they send it to Fairview or metro.

I love how they check everything that is a concern out and get you in and out pretty quickly for an er.

Called ahead to make an appointment for labs. I was in and out in about 10 minutes.

From checking in with security, the reception area, and even how the staff handled a disorderly patient, I was pleased with my Emergency visit. Once checked in, the PA evaluated me and listened to my symptoms. She sat down and listened and I didn't feel like she was only listening to chart, but actually focused on my concerns actively. In doing so, I was properly diagnosed without having to undergo several tests or referrals. All the orders placed were able to zero-in to what was happening to me that night. My nurse was Jessica and she was so attentive to my needs. She made sure to communicate everything with the ER doc, and promptly gave my medications. I never had to wait a full minute for my call light to be answered. Dr Brown was my ER Doc. I was seen within minutes of being in the room. Examined within minutes, and 30 minutes later I was being given medications to manage my pain and symptoms. This made the wait for ultrasound and results so much tolerable because I was comfortable. Dr Brown was super kind and was thorough about the clinical decisions of my care. He has a genuine concern and big heart for his patients and he did not miss a beat. He was attentive and I didn't feel devalued at all into 'just another patient.' As an RN of 10 years, I understand how difficult it is for providers to go above and beyond, with the limited time and resources at our disposal. This team made it look like it's their status quo to be patient-centered; however their night is going (there were patients that were acting disorderly during my stay). They kept their head in the game. I've been to a few ER visits and this facility took the cake.

Just had the worst lab experience of my life. Felicia was my Phlebotomist and did such an awful job. She was all over the place, unprofessional and couldnt get a handle on anything. She almost didnt even get everything the Dr had ordered until I corrected her. I went in for routine blood work. She dug into my left arm and couldnt get anything. She then went for my right arm, only able to get three vials after I pointed out the vein she should use. She accused me of not drinking enough water when Ive had over 32oz for the day. Another phlebotomist had to come in to finish the job and was thankfully able to find a large vein on my left arm in seconds and finish the job. As an IVF patient, Ive had many blood draws in the last 6 months with zero issues. Please avoid this place if you need any labs done. Go elsewhere. Its a mess.
