I didn't even get a chance to walk into their office and had already had a bad experience with the secretary over the phone when trying to set up a free consultation and then on top of that, they didn't even see me because they wrote down the appointment time wrong on their end. I found them online and chose the office for a specific reason (the lawyer is a woman and I did not have a good experience with a man lawyer from consultation from before) and the free offer didn't hurt. However, upon getting a call back, the secretary did not strike me with a warm, friendly voice and against my better judgement, I decided to go ahead and set an appointment up even though their location was pretty far from me. She asked if I'd like a morning or afternoon and I told her I'd prefer the latter since I knew I had work. So I wrote down the time on my calendar, text my mother who would attend for moral support, text my boss that I'd need to leave early, and planned to drop off my kids early to be watched. As I called in to find their location and arrive early, the said secretary informed me she had no other appointments for that day and I was taken aback and shocked! I wasted my time, gas, and clients at work. I know and am positive that she set me up for a certain time. I stated that I wasn't even given a courtesy call to even find out why I hadn't shown up for the time she "apparently had me down for --- 2 hours early then agreed appointment time! Needless to say, her tone of voice changed and I was put on hold to see if I could be seen but no, the lawyer had other clients to be seen. I guess I was S-O-L for the front desk's mistake. I was a secretary before and always double checked and confirmed appointments or my job would be on the line. I was so upset I just said to "forget it!" What happened to professional, customer service these days. My review summary would be to double check with the main secretary to make sure she has written you down for the CORRECT time so that you won't waste resources getting there and then having to turn around and leave and if you don't feel good in anyway, best to phone/ meet up with other professionals who makes you feel at ease and welcomed. Businesses forget that "a" customer is just not a "one time" customer- they are potential "repeat customers" and it costs more to attain new customers/clients than retain your current/loyal ones.
