image this isnt a thrift or even a discounted store. some items are even marked up from what theyre worth. if youre looking to thrift or even find good deals this isnt the place. its essentially a curated second hand store. also the vibes are off in general. for example, to use the bathroom an employee has to buzz you in and let you enter the restrooms. weird place.

image Genuinely shocked at how spot on every reviewer is on pricing. I expected it would be high prices for name brands but its EVERYTHING. Games are $20, books are around $6 for old, worn, unpopular titles. There are several toys, books, etc Ive recently seen at target for same price without sales.. it was so much better years ago unfortunately :(

image I LOVE the items they sell, but unfortunately, their prices are more expensive than when the items were brand new. I used to love going here in high school, but a lot has changed. Many of the staff members make it obvious they don't want to be there and are not helpful.

image This place is filled with a mixture of good deals and ridiculously high prices. You just have to take the day and look through everything thoroughly to find a good deal.

image Allow me to take you on a journey through the electronics department at village discount outlet of cuyahoga falls. Buckle in because its about to make you upset, unless you dont care for electronics in which case this is going to come off as unhinged but thats okay.
First up is a used copy of GTA 5 for the PlayStation 3. Now you can usually pick this up for $1-$5 at a garage sale and about $15 online. Here its for sale at the low low price of $30.
Next we have a stunning Vizio 24 tv inch with a fairly large scratch and moderate scuff marks. This TV came out 10 years ago in February of 2014. At a goodwill or savers this will probably set you back $15-$30 and a brand new model at target is $130 for better features. Its $120 here, no remote included. If it was included it would probably be $150.
Now we have a 12 year old HP monitor model number W2072A. This bad how has a 20 inch screen, VGA AND DVI input, 1600x900 resolution and weighs only 8 pounds. Normally you can pick these up for $1 at garage sales, or $5-10 at other thrift stores. Theres even one right there for $35 on eBay when I googled the specs. Its $80 here.
Up to bat now is a what appears to be an iMac G5. This ole boy is close to two decades old now, coming out in 2005. This was the generation that Apple swapped from PowerPC to Intel so thats neat. Anyway its very underpowered by todays standards, and it will have a very difficult time browsing the web as the newest operating system it supports is 10.5.8 leopard. With all of that said it does hold some value, vintage Macs are cool. You can get these online for about $40-60 pretty regularly, or here for $180. It was apparently $200+ at some point but they covered that sticker with $180 when it inevitably didnt sell. I doubt it will sell for the revised price as well.
The last one on this tour is probably the most egregious to me. Here we see an HP w1907 19 inch monitor from 2007. It has a 1440x900 resolution, DVI and VGA port and 11 pounds of weight. Ive seen this same monitor for a lot of prices over the years. At goodwill and savers theyre usually $10 or so, at garage sales Ive seen them for as little as $1. Ive driven past them for free on tree lawns as they await a picker or garbage truck. Ive worked for companies where we PAY to remove models similar to this. All of that said what is the asking price here? $120. One hundred and twenty American dollars. Ive gotten 1440p monitors for HALF of that price years ago when they would cost more on average.
Long story short the prices are absolutely insane for some of the electronics, so much so that I didnt even bother to keep shopping and walked straight out the door after taking these pictures. Im not even sure where the prices come from, it definitely cant be online because they would notice their $120 monitor is selling regularly for $25-$35.
