I do believe the Pollaks know how to fix watches, it's just that it my experience their work is sloppy. Sent two inexpensive vintage watches to them - a 40s Benrus, and 60s Waltham - Benrus had something wrong with the rotation of the minute hand, and the Waltham needed a service. They fixed both of the watches, but both watches came back damaged. They scratched the dial on the Benrus, and scratched the caseback on the Waltham (it looked like they tried to pry, instead of unscrew, the screw back case and slipped a couple of times). Both cases also came back with more dust and lint on the dials that when I sent them. Pollack watch service is affordable, but sloppy, and I will not be using them again, nor would I recommend them.

What to say about this place... hmm, the work done was good had two sections removed to make the watch fit better. But the attitude of the gentleman behind the counter on my first visit left a bad taste in my mouth. He came off as dismissively arrogant. Confidence is ok but arrogance is tacky. He was honest with his critique of a watch I brought in but again in a very arrogant dismissive manner. The same guy was there on my second visit and he was a bit better on that go around. This place is closing at the end of 2018 the owner is retiring and from what I can tell this may be for the better.

Very helpful service, very honest. Could have charged me for extra batteries, but didn't. Went out of the way to fix what was essentially a worthless watch with only sentimental value.
