What's For Dessert

I have only ordered cakes fron Eric since my wedding. Every cake I have ever ordered from him has been ABOVE and BEYOND expectations and taste AMAZING! He is so easy to work woth and very creative. I LOVE this bakery!!

We purchased our wedding cake through What's for Dessert for our recent wedding. We had originally booked with another bakery who closed unexpectedly about 9 months before our wedding. Eric was great to work with and very accommodating arranging tastings and working via e-mail since we were out of town. My maid of honor purchased a cake for my bridal shower from him (two tier fondant cake) which was beautiful and delicious. His fondant actually tastes great and the cake was a hit at the shower. Unfortunately, our wedding cake wasn't quite as fantastic. The cake tasted great (with a key lime filling) and was delivered on time as promised but was a bit sloppy in appearance. The edges of the fondant weren't crisp, the tiers were a bit uneven which gave the whole cake a "wobbly" appearance, there was powder evident along the brown fondant ribbon still, and the sugar orchids on the cake (which were not inexpensive) were painted a crazy shade of neon green. I would highly recommend Eric for his smaller cakes and his other desserts are probably great. Unfortunately, I don't think I would recommend his fondant wedding cakes. We looked at numerous other bakeries which seemed to make cakes that had a more finished appearance at the end.
