Bar Louie

Bartender neglected my side of the bar majority of the time (there were at least 7 of us sitting on that side at all times, sometimes more). So people trying to place orders and close their tabs waited forever or had to walk to the other side and make requests. Additionally flopped several garnishes on their cocktails and didn't match the descriptions on the menu at all. Bar phone rang multiple times and went totally ignored even though it wasn't remotely busy.That became annoying fast. This place has really gone downhill the past year.

Our large group had excellent service. The waiter was amazingly on top of everything from people coming in and leaving at different times, refills on sodas, and breaking down the checks between couples and singles. Even provided information on gluten free menu items for someone with dietary restrictions. We had a great time and never felt rushed.

Pic of us "watching" the game at Bar Louie in Oakley. Got here at 8:30. Called ahead to see if they are going to play the US soccer game and they said they would definitely have it on. Asked as soon as we got here if they could turn the game on. After asking 4 different people 6 times if they could turn the game on, decided 10 minutes into the match to just stream it. The bartender's response was "I yelled back there for them to turn it on" and then walked away and started talking to another patron. We finally asked to speak to the manager who finally came out and turned the channel to the game 15 minutes after we asked her. In addition, while our server was nice, drinks from the bartender took 30 minutes to get to the table. I would not recommend going here. Ever. I tried giving this place a chance since it is so close to my house. This isn't the first time I have had terrible service here but it will be my last.

We've eaten at Bar Louie many times. I love the food (especially those salmon sliders), but the service is always hit or miss. Last night was a miss. I get the "seat yourself" idea, but then nobody on staff acknowledges that you're there. We waited awhile for someone to come over to our table. We asked if she could wipe off the table. She came back after heading to the bar and then checking on another table. By then, we were gone. We saw her through the window cleaning the table as we got back in our car. I guess the guy coming in as we left had a clean table at which to sit. I'm not going to blame the wait staff as this is a routine occurrence. Maybe they don't have enough people working to cover such a large restaurant. Maybe they should close off sections so staff doesn't have to cover as much space as it gets late. There are too many restaurants in that area now to have to wait that long for service.
