Granted I love cold war history but this is an incredible place to visit. It's the preserved launch facility for the minutemen III missiles that were (and still are!) spread across the great plains. You can actually go down into the preserved bunker facilities and see the incredible engineering work that went into making these as well as learn many facts about the young men & women who worked here.
Cost is $10 (free for active duty military), tour takes roughly an hour. Note that there are some pretty enclosed spaces (you are 60+ feet underground surrounded by 4+ foot of reinforced concrete with low ceilings) _however_ there is a wheelchair available if you have problems ducking your head or just getting around.

Take a step back in time to the “Cold War†when multiple Minute Man missile silos dotted the upper Plains states. This particular site, known officially as “Oscar Zeroâ€, was decommissioned in the 90’s as a result of the S.A.L.T. agreement between the U.S. and the then U.S.S.R. The North Dakota historical society obtained this site and has preserved it for people to get an inside peek at how America was protected by the men and, later, women who manned these nuclear missile control centers. Besides being able to tour the upper control center, you can also go underground to the actual launch control capsule where the Air Force officers, who were essentially locked in for 24 hour shifts, lived and worked. It is literally like stepping back in time and is well worth the $10.00 admission. The full tour took about 2 hours and was led by a well versed tour guide from the historical society.
