I would highly recommend John and company. John was not only polite but they were affordable! They moved my office furniture for me with minimal notice. They are fast and very polite what else could I ask for!! I highly recommend!!

Very poor, the guys never showed up, so i attempted to go to their "alleged" office at South Kerr Ave, and was told they don't have an office there but another moving company does. Very poor. Choose another company

***PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE YOU HIRE THESE MORONS***
These CROOKS are the worst people to EVER deal with. First of all, you should know that I called to get an estimate and was told the move would be estimated at about 4 to 6 hours at an hourly rate for 2 movers about 2 months in advance of my move- it ended up taking 4 people 8 hours to move me NOT because I have too much stuff, but because of the debacle you are about to read.
The movers were over an hour late and they pulled up in a U-HAUL, NOT a Move Makers truck. They pulled up an immediately asked me for GAS MONEY (WHO DOES THAT???). The two men did not look professional AT ALL and we could tell they barely knew each other at all. On the first trip down the stairs one of the men fell down the stairs because he was not paying attention, so he proceeded to tell me I needed to pay another $20 per hour to hire a third person. He took over an hour and a half of time locating a third person and was billing me for the whole time he was on the phone. The third person gets there and they ALL start taking 10-15 minute breaks EVERY half hour...literally (still billing me almost $100 an hour mind you). I call the office to speak with a manager and I get some pompous ass cannon who can't even tell me (or wont even admit he is the owner--bad sign btw) his position in the company (come to find out he is the owner) and offers me 1 hour off and still billing at the three person rate, which I was even more furious about SEEING AS THERE WERE NEVER THREE PEOPLE WORKING AT THE SAME TIME. They eventually take almost 6 hours just to load the house into the truck. The owner takes it upon himself to "make me feel better" by coming to help the men unload because I am mad now about the number of hours I am being billed for their laziness. He brings his son with him and they all magically get it unloaded in about 2 hours.
Then he has the audacity to hand me a bill for over one thousand dollars and he billed me for four people and never even asked me permission to add the fourth, he just came. He was lucky I didn't punch him in the face in my kitchen with the amount of attitude he had that evening, and just for the record I am a REALLY hard person to get to that point. Come to find out they broke my vacuum, carpet cleaner, handles off 4 drawers of a $4000 bedroom suit's dresser, nicks on every single piece of furniture that are VERY visible to everyone, a $150 vase, and damaged beyond repair some other furniture/pictures and THEY DIDN'T EVEN MOVE EVERYTHING!! We had over three separate cars FULL of stuff that we had to move ourselves because they did not.
Contacting them for a claim has been a nightmare and all but impossible. They do not have an office where it is listed at online or in the phone book or on their invoices, though oddly enough they are all three different addresses. Their "business" phones apparently get forwarded to a cell phone as they are avoiding my calls and both the cell phone number he gave me and the business phone both have the exact same voicemail message. No way to place a claim for my losses and nobody to complain to because the owner is an ass hat.
This place needs to be shut down. These people are absolute criminals. DO NOT USE THEM FOR YOUR MOVING ADVENTURES.

Spoke with the owner John twice about our move here in Wilmington and on the day we were scheduled to load neither he or a crew ever showed up. He didn't answer any of our calls and never informed us of any delays prior to this. My wife was devastated and we spent the entire morning trying to track him down. I went to the address listed and was told by the rental manager that he is NOT located at 925 S Kerr Ave at all. We had no choice but to reschedule our entire move with another company. I also contacted the NC Utilities Commission and found out from them that The Move Makers is NOT LICENSED to move any household goods and should be reported if he is. These so-called Move Makers ruined everything for my family. I had to make all new arrangements and it cost me quite a bit of money to fix. I DO NOT recommend! Look on other sites and you will find several bad reviews by people making similar complaints over the years. I wish I had done that before I scheduled with him in the first place. THE WORST EXPERIENCE!!!!
