If you want want honest work & accountability, steer very clear of Charley & Adler Construction. Charley did a $50k remodel at my house that will end up costing at least another $50k to correct. Upon nearing the end of the job, Florence came & instead of ever completing the job & punch list, he tried to scam me into making a fraudulent insurance claim so that he could secure another $100k worth of work. The plumbing in my bathroom has never worked & is not done to code in the slightest (we now know the plumbing is leaking because of poor installation). Every square foot of flooring be installed has bubbled & buckled. Charley tried to blame this on the hurricane but I have photos that prove otherwise. The cuts around the molding & the paint job looks like a 6 year old did it. His worker, Jon, told us he learned hus skill work via YouTube. Halfway thru the project I was told Charley accidentally misquoted me by thousands of dollars. There was a cycle of 20-something year olds workers. Tile work that looks like moles live underneath it. Master shower does not drain, as a result of below average tile work (causing water to pool in the shower & grow moldy, etc). A fire alarm was left underneath recklessly blown piles of insulation in my attic & beeped for 6 months before it was located. Today, 2.5 years later, all toilets quit working & fecal matter was flowing out of my master shower drain (that Charley constructed & plumbed himself). Later, I was ignored for months. Upon finally reaching him, I begged him to come to the house & do an walk thru to address some issues, I even agreed to spend more money if absolutely necessary. Shortly after, he ghosted us. Since, all other professionals have confirmed that the work done to my house was absolutely incorrect, ignorant & not to code. Therefore, risking my health & safety. I have time stamped photos, receipts & screenshots of the dismal work done proving that the work was wrong from start to finish. Do not hire Charley Holtzclaw. ***in response*** Couple things for ya here— since it seems health & safety were of your concern... how can you explain the plumbing & electricity work that wasn’t done to code? Those jobs were completed well before the hurricane arrived. According to the professionals that have been here since, the work you did is not only malfunctioning & incorrect, it’s unsanitary & dangerous to me & my family. It seems to me that you were more concerned in cohersing me to file a fraudulent insurance claim (so that you could get paid to correct your own unlicensed mistakes) than you were with anyone’s health. Two other professionals have been underneath our house & we have ripped up floors & no one else came close to the moisture readings & repair costs that you showed me. Additionally, upon meeting with an attorney, the letter you had me chasing my insurance company for, after already having received funds, was nothing but a confirmation of my suspicion you were just trying to secure what you were calling a $130,000 job. It was a desperate attempt on your part & at my expense. It is also unclear to me how weather affected the images I attached in my original review. That is nothing but sheer negligence done by you & your below average & unlicensed work force. Yet you continually assured me how easy & quick they were to fix. I’m sure you’ve convenitly forgotten that the last time we spoke, I begged you to fix everything except the floors. I was as patient as I could be with you & gave you every chance to right your wrongs & was even willing to pay you more. We never had a discussion about severing a relationship. You said you were sending a plumber & we were waiting on tile folks. Then you ghosted me. You refuse to acknowledge the blatant issues that were caused by you & you alone. I was more than generous & understanding & you took complete advantage of me & my home. It is disgusting. In conclusion... not only did you fail to learn “how to build a bathroom” on YouTube you also failed to learn honest work, professionalism & accountability. Services: Water fixture installation, Flooring repair, Painting, Drywall installation, Floor fitting, Flooring, Remodelling, Tile fitters
