Old Stone Inn

We were more that disappointed with my ROMANTIC Package to the Old Stone Inn in Waynesville, NC...We stayed in the Mt Laurel Cabin which should be condemmed. The floor in the bathroom is rotten and the toilet feels as tho it is ready to fall through. The bathroom was also more than just dirty, the walls appeared NOT to have been cleaned for weeks, HEAVY dust along molding, tiny tiny shower. Over all, TERRIBLE!! You will notice there is NOT a list of amenities when you go to their website...The reason?? There are none...The temperature in the room was NOT able to be adjusted to be comfortable, the 10" TV was difficult to see...YES 10 Inch...Terrible!! The sliding glass door was broken and unable to be locked except with a piece of wood, and the curtains were in TERRIBLE condition...why is this place open??? The driveway leading to the Inn as well as the parking lot are in need of lots and lots of attention. The Office attendant was less than cordial and when I went to check out, he snapped at me that you check out in the restaurant, like that makes sense... The best part of the stay was the food...Nothing great at best, it could be eaten... Yes, that is the ONLY semi-good thing I can say about the Inn... Our neighbor stated when he checked into his cottage, there was dog crap on the couch, another couple that had stayed there in the past, stated it had REALLY gone down hill and should be closed for extensive repairs. I would NOT suggest this place to ANYONE...it is in MUCH need of repairs and upgrades...
