Waxhaw ER was excellent! Every caregiver I came in contact with went above and beyond for me. Dr. Johnson was caring and thorough with finding my diagnosis. Very thankful for the care I received!

Nurses and Dr kastner were very nice and did all tests and scan necessary . Dr Kastner listened to my concerns and made sure i was not longer in pain

I took my daughter to the ER for a broken arm in November 2022. The receptionist was awful and would tell my daughter to continue to cover her face with a mask, even though we were sitting all by ourselves away from everyone else. My daughter’s nose was running from crying so hard due to her injury. Then it took over three hours for them to read an x-ray which had to be sent off. They misread the x-ray and told us that her arm was a clean break and the bones were completely aligned. Only to find out after one emergency surgery and four casts later That it was not a clean break. Costing us thousands of dollars and countless hours away from work and school. The ER charge my insurance over $4000 and then decided I owed 700 additional I filed an appeal and after they researched the hospital came to the conclusion that they stand by their work and I indeed owe the $700. Avoid this hospital at all cost! If they cannot read an x-ray, they are in capable of helping, save lives.

My wife went in for a medical issue and specifically asked if that medical issue could be taken cared of right then and there that required minor surgery. The people at the front desk said yes and then admitted her. When she went back the Dr. came in the room and my wife told him what the problem was and he said they don't have a surgeon on staff that day and couldn't perform the surgery and he acted annoyed and condescending. My wife decided to leave because nobody could help her like she originally asked at the front desk. Within 2 weeks we received a bill for $301 and my wife tried to dispute the charge because she clearly did not receive the medal treatment that she was told could be performed that day. After the "Audit and Appeals Department" did their "work" of looking into this dispute, they determined that we still owed the $301. Again, mind you, she was told by the front desk that she could receive that medical treatment that day and proceeded to admit her. If they would have said "No, there isn't anybody here that could perform this medical procedure" then she would have left and went to another E.R. Atrium Health of Waxhaw can do what is right and refund us our money that we had to pay before it would have been sent to collections.
