I am currently employed by Kelly Services. This company is a temp agency that places you with companies that need your skills. Well, after putting in my application for a machine operator for molding products, I went through the hiring process quickly to get this position. Well little did I know that the position was not available yet and I started a position as an assembly line worker at this company. People, the job was so easy that a 10 years old child could perform the job duties. I'm standing at an assembly line with MRI parts that medical doctors, hospitals, clinics use on their patients. All these parts are coming down an assembly line where you have to add a few other parts to complete the package before it gets packed into a box for shipping. Anyway in this company, they make the tubes and other parts for medical facilities. I mean the duties are easy and relaxing really. Nothing at this company is hard work. I was on the 3rd shift, 8 hrs, 11 pm-7 pm. Now the crazy part is the suit up, gown down, the uniform, the lab clothing you have to wear while working in this company. First, the team leader gives you everything new, it depends on where you are going, like what white room you will be working in. On the third shift, not many people work this shift, you have the 11-7 and 12 hrs shifts.
I feel like I got fooled or tricked into working this position I never applied to or knew anything about this position. Putting on all that lab attire on at one time was just too much then you have to put a hooded over your hair net or hair scarf, buttoned it up and the jumpsuit have to be zipped up and fasten with the hood tucked inside, don't forget the hand gloves, then you have the plastic shoes over your shoes that have to be snapped together. Then the face mask with the eye goggles was just the cherry on top, no the ear plugs what made me feel like I was under water drowning. I was ready for death or ready to past out. The area where I worked in supposed to be cold or cool in there, well it was warm next to death to me. I wanted to quick right then and there but I worked the whole shift. The night before my actual working shift, the team leader sent me home because my cologne was too strong for her, but she let the men in the same room work without questioning him about his cologne like she had did me the previously night. I missed out of 8 hrs because of her discriminating who can and can not wear cologne around her. Did I report her? Yes, she was reported to her manager. Anyone that works in that area: no cologne, make-up, nail polish, high hairdos, jewelry at all. Personally, the job itself was easy, but the get up you have to put on to do the job was too much for me. So if anyone needs a job and willing to deal with dressing up part to do a simple job, got for it because they will be always hiring for this position because no one stays long. It pays anywhere from $10.00 and higher. Still not worth it.
