The often overlooked Saluda Grade Cafe is a love you do not want to miss! Fun and creative dishes crafted from fresh local ingredients are our thing and the Cafe does not disappoint. Don’t go in for the over-rated Purple Onion. Give the Cafe a try and you will be glad you did!

I don't mind spending good money on good food. It's all about the value of the dollar for me. At Saluda Grade Cafe I had the Vegetarian Black Bean Burger, my husband had a regular burger. The menu did not state if or what was included. Mine was $9, the burger was $12. The side was plain corn chips, like Tostitos. The flavor was just ok for both burgers, so put all that together it was not worth the money. Also note that $9 is the least inexpensive item except for the small side salad. Staff was pleasant, food took a long time (considering simple burgers), the decor was artwork for sale. One last little thing that showed general lack of care was the ladies room. The initial idea of including a salt scrub jar is great, but not when the jar is dirty and said salt scrub is almost rock solid. I feel the small town cafe wants to be upper scale, but is lacking in the follow through.
