Creech and Blalock installed a standard belt drive system in my new construction home garage, that is a "high lift" (tall ceiling). After a year of operation, the system had several operation issues and I contacted Creech and Blalock for service. Upon investigation, I learned that they should have installed a Jack Shaft system that is better suited for the application. A tech from Creech and Blalock made a visit and agreed that a jack shaft system would be better for proper and safe operation of the door. To get a second opinion, an independent garage door tech confirmed that the standard drive system shouldn't have been installed and that my pressure reverse safety feature was not working properly due to the system design. I then contacted Jordan at Creech and Blalock and he was not exactly receptive to solving the issue, directing me to call my general contractor, basically deflecting responsibility. During the conversation with Jordan, I offered to pay for the upgrade equipment, but not the labor, as they should never have installed the incorrect system. He said he'd get back to me. Several more follow up calls (messages) to Jordan over several months, and no response. I tried to get a solution, and was patient, but my concerns fell on deaf ears. I gave up hope that Creech and Blalock would come through and moved on. My garage now has a beautiful new Jack shaft system installed by Custom Door and Gate in Raleigh. Yes, I paid an extra $600 to get this done right, by a company that knows what they are doing and cares about customers. Again, my issue is not with the technicians at Creech and Blalock, just the management concerning doing the right thing for the customer. Creech and Blalock chose to do nothing, saving them maybe $200 in labor and a site visit, but it cost them this negative review. I would hope that if this situation were to arise again, they would give more consideration for a smarter decision and better outcome. It's how service companies respond to problems that matters, and often it's not complicated to do it the right way, yet some companies just don't get it.
