Both of my kids (4th and 6th grades) excelled under the careful instruction of Ms Lan. She is very attune to each kid's individual needs and she guides them with grace and kindness. Also, Ms. Lan is easy to work with and is flexible to your scheduling needs. I highly recommend this center.

My son has been going to this kumon center from last year and we are really thankful for his learning curve. Specially Ms.Lan ( the instructor) is amazing in paying close attention to each kid and improving their skills. I highly recommend Kumon Center located at Leesville Rd for various reasons such as great environment and professional environment. Thank you and all the staff for all the dedication and patience towards all the kids.

My daughter start Kumon last fall. She didn't know her ABC's neither numbers. In less than a year now. She is able to read by her own her favorite stories with no help and fluent in counting. Miss Lanye was very helpful guiding her with no stress at all.

We cannot express our gratitude enough for our kids Kumon experience with Ms. Lan in the triangle area. We were referred by a friend of ours from my husbands Duke MBA program who mentioned we should start our kids in Kumon young. We were told our 3 yr old was an early decoder. That was 7 yrs ago and we are so incredibly grateful we did. We are even more grateful we chose Ms. Lans Kumon Center. There was a year when he was mis-assessed by a teacher and Ms. Lan went to meet with the teacher to show the work he had been doing in her studio over the years to get him properly assessed. In this case, Ms. Lan not only helped our child receive an accurate academic assessment, she also helped other students with parents not in a position to challenge an inaccurate assessment at a prestigious school. We worried what would happen to kids at the school that did not have an alternative academic record with Ms. Lans support if necessary. Then the pandemic hit. We explained we were having a hard time getting the kids to do Kumon, on top of the school worksheets we had no explanations for, and virtual PE. Ms. Lan agreed to personally meet with both kids virtually 2x a week to keep them on track with at least reading, writing and math. We had a 7yr old and 4yr old. Ms. Lan religiously met with our kids on a video platform making sure they were keeping to their individual pace and potential. She even had much more accurate insights into the childrens learning styles then their teachers because she had been seeing them longer and tracking their progress personally. She moved effortlessly from in person center meetings with our kids to video. This was powerful support for our family. During the pandemic we needed to move out of the state to a larger city with much more competitive elementary schools. One school with almost zero enrollment availability past Kindergarten. Gratefully both of our kids were able to get in and they were both performing at or above grade level. Three months into the new private school our son told us his math teacher even pulled him out of class to ask where he had learned his multiplication and division skills. He said Kumon. While the majority of students had fallen behind grade level especially in math with Ms. Lans oversight our son managed to stay a little ahead, making math class much more fun for him and an easier transition to a new school. We are so grateful for the academic confidence Kumon gave our kids but even more so for Ms. Lan. She encouraged our kids to keep going even when things became difficult and she even encouraged us as parents as well. She was an excellent role model and we are grateful we got the opportunity to invest in her Kumon center for the last 7yrs. We also observed the lesson in resiliency and the stability of knowing Kumon would be a regular expectation really helped our kids during the pandemic. Our goal was to proactively help our kids before they had the opportunity to fall behind for their teachers sake, their peers sake, and our childs. We still ran into unique deficits and unique gifts of each of our children, but Ms. Lan was instrumental in assuring we identify and capitalize on the gifts and neutralize the deficits as much as our kids could with additional nurturing support. She also was able to advise us more accurately on how our kids learning style impacted them and changed over time. We learned not to expect our kid and their assigned teacher to always be a great fit, but instead have a safety net like Ms. Lans Kumon center because nothing goes according to plan always. School has become complex and sometimes we think maybe school is becoming a place you practice what you learned at home? Maybe expecting the kids to learn these concepts at school for the first time isnt possible in our world today? We are not sure, but our kids know even if they complain about having to do their Kumon it makes them more prepared for their teacher. We hope this helps a child or teacher somewhere. We are infinitely grateful for Ms. Lan and her dedication to our kids.
