After reading other reviews, I was convinced that my dog could be trained at Darwin K9, but I was worried he would lose some of his personality--that he would be a robot that listened to commands. My worries it seems were completely unfounded. My dog is the same sweet, weirdo he has always been! He just also listens to me whenever I ask him to do something. The trainers at Darwin K9 are professionals, no doubt, but more than that they are personable. They make sure you know that they care about your dog, they work through any problems, and they keep you updated throughout the whole process. The only downside for me? I only own one dog. If they all were to behave like he does now, I think I might get two or three more...

I am a good boy but a little head strong. Alyssa was able to teach me that I am not the Alpha when it comes to my human parents. It took a couple trips to the principles office but I graduated and never looked back. My parents love the way I behave off leash when we do our morning walks. I also listen to my various commands and know they are just trying to keep me safe. A couple of times I forgot a couple of things because my parents did not reinforce my training. They called Alyssa and she came and gave me a refresher course no questions asked. In the future I may fake disobedience just to get to see Alyssa. My sister also plans to attend Darwin K9 when she gets a little older. She will teach her everything I know. Thanks Alyssa! Love Brewer

TWO WORDS. THE BEST. Darwin K9 took our dog and transformed him into a wonderful, well-behaved Rottweiler. He was 18 months old and was into everything. He once was considered to be a bull in a china shop. We have two young children and they were afraid to be around him because of his excessive energy. Being a working family, we didnt have the time to exercise him every day and what he needed was the mental stimulation. This company took our dog and transformed him into a gentleman. He now politely walks on a leash (absolutely no pulling or even walking ahead, his footsteps match our footsteps on the leash), sit waits for doors to be opened, knows his place command, down a distance (very useful). Before Mack entered the in-home boarding program, we could not go out for a walk without blisters on our hands. If you are considering this training for your dog, go for it. It is worth every single penny. Other companies want to teach you; how to train your dog. This company actually trains your dog and will provide follow-up support. I love Darwin k9 and their awesome team. I absolutely recommend them to everyone!

I have nothing but great things to say about DarwinK9 and the quality of training they offer. I put my pretty disobedient, but equally lovable dog Oliver in the jump start program. This program included 10 days of training solely with the Darwink9 trainers, to establish a solid foundation, in which Oliver learned a multitude of obedience training. I was incredibly surprised at how well he performed after the ten days! I guess miracles do come true! The program also includes hands on, once a week, to help me train Oliver as well. Not only have I learned valuable skills pertaining to Oliver, but I have learned a lot about his personality as well. Darwink9 has always been there to help me with any problems I have with Oliver. I can really tell that they are passionate about their work, and it is evident in the obedient Mr. Oliver I have today. Would and have recommended to anyone looking for the best training Raleigh has to offer.

I am so happy that we found Darwin K9 and got to work with Alexia as a trainer. I have two dogs, a 2 year and 10 month black lab mix. Our 2 year old Luna is the sweetest dog you will ever meet, if you are a human and are female! With stranger dogs and males, Luna would become very aggressive. Whenever we would take Luna on a walk she would start lunging, growling, and become very hard to handle. Rylee, our 10 month old pup is quite the opposite! She is a happy pup who is full of energy. Alexia described her perfectly, "a mix of black lab and coffee bean." Rylee had absolutely no manners. She would jump on anyone, she would take all of the attention, and whenever we would walk with her she would become "hyper focused" and not listen to a word we would say. Having two complete opposite dogs, Luna an aggressive dog and Rylee a completely unruly dog, I was looking for a trainer that could help us. Alexia was very calming and really had confidence that she could have both of our dogs become manageable with their weaknesses. We signed up for the advanced in boarding program and Alexia kept them about 4 weeks. The week we got them back we were so pleased! They were completely different dogs. However, both Luna and Rylee started to forget their training (along with myself forgetting some of the reinforcement techniques) and once again, we were back to walking with Luna growling and Rylee not listening on walks. I contacted Alexia and she was great! She took both of our dogs back to keep working with them and also had sessions where she watched and corrected me. She really was determined to have our dogs "top-notch" with skills and obedience. I never once felt that once we got our dogs back, Alexia would forget about us. She periodically checks in, and if we have any issue at all, Alexia addresses it as soon as she can. I am so happy that we have that support from her, especially with two dogs that started out as so difficult. I can now take my dogs on a walk and have confidence in not only their ability, but I also have confidence that I will be able to remain in control. I would recommend Darwin K9 to anyone that wants to have a dog that is not just a pet, but a true companion and one that has true manners. I have friends all the time that see our dogs on walks and mention every time that they wish that their dogs would be so good...and I say that it was all thanks to Alexia and Darwin K9!
