Dagenhart Appraisals

This man is extremely rude and unprofessional!

Dagenhart appraisal has done 2 appraisals for me- not by choice but he is who the bank offered. The first time was years ago and I remember him being quite rude and his comments were very unprofessional. He also asked for a previous appraisal so he could get the measurements off of it to make his job easier. The bank sent him out to appraise our rental property last month. We let him know we were out of town for the week and set a time for my brother to meet him. He was rude in the phone when we explained we would have someone newr him. My brother met him at the home as we were on vacation. He (my brother) is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Our 3rd bedroom was an office previously which we tore out a wall and framed in a closet to make it a 3rd bedroom to help with value. When he went in to measure it he commented to my brother, "Hardly a bedroom but I guess I will have to call it one" Now if this were the home we lived in and it is what we could afford, HOW RUDE!! Who knows what his home is like but you don't go putting down other people's property. Needles to say I have let BB&T know our displeasure with his services- for the second time. While we will continue to use BBT for mortgage needs we will refuse him appraising another property!

The reason for 2 star is: an appraiser is hired to appraise a piece of real estate. When the day comes to do the appraisal and you go inside, walking through the home, you would think an appraisal is being completed. Not in my wildest dreams would I have thought that you would declined the job based on the towns people and church people for fear they may get upset if you were to show any repairs needed. This is what you get paid to do. Very unprofessional. The thing is, an inspection had already been done showing the repairs. Not only that, you upset some of the church people cause you gave a bad impression about them as a congregation. Your name is out there now as the one who declined. Because you thought of yourself and your position in the town , closing had to be moved out. And you know what, I am taking the 2 stars out and making it to a 1 star. Sadly, you may be a very good appraiser. But you can not do your job based on how it is going to affect your social life.
