Dr was very good I felt, so I am sorry for the providers that I have to leave this sort if review..but as for the optical store and technician, as well as the lady up front at checkout - Not impressed to say the least. Actually, I left feeling disregarded and degraded by optical store and by front desk. The tech in the optical side completely changed demeanor when I informed her that my childrens insurance is currently Medicaid. She said Oh, you wont choose any of these, your choices are in a different box Ill have to get from the back. She proceeded to bring out a shoe box with a tangle of glasses in it for my 8 yr old to choose from. I said So do we pick a frame and yall order in her size and fit? No, this is just what we have.. So we proceeded to find the ONE pair of glasses that came close to fitting my daughter and that was that. They didnt measure her or check fit, nothing, no help whatsoever. (they stayed on her head until we could save enough to order a pair that fit her properly from Jonas Paul online). Then at checkout, I apparently misunderstood or just made a mistake and didnt realize I would be paying anything, and she would NOT even try to work with me! (I believe it was $49). I offered everything I could think of, since I was getting paid in 1 dayincluding leaving a post dated check along with my driver's license, scheduling a debit for next day, partial payment today and rest tomorrow, NO was her resolution. I said what am I supposed to do? Are you going to try and bleed money from me??. No help whatsover. Just I dont know. My daughter finally remembered that we had a Visa gift card that may have some on it, and at one point I asked my 14 yr old daughter to hush so I could think, lol, and this woman actually TOLD MY CHILD TO GO SIT DOWN..I was so humiliated and then annoyed! We were able to pay with that and were allowed to finally leave. HUMILIATING experience and will never go back. Mind you, being on Medicaid is new for us and times are hard. I get that everyone needs whats due, but a little humanity please! Below is a pic of her ill-fitting glasses from CFV. Poor baby had to wear them for 3 months

My family and I have been coming here for a few years. Always great service. The only negative I can honestly say about the place is they had changed glasses distributors and they had limited options and colors of glasses like they had before. Besides that this place is great!

Eyecare is feeling more like a cheap used car buying experience these days. First off the positive: The people were nice and friendly and Dr. Sawyer did a fantastic and a very thorough eye exam as did the assistant prepping me. And they were on my eye insurance plan (Surely thats good right?) I would definitely seek out that Dr if he went independent. Now the Negative: $300($255 for exam $39 for retinal image) for a new patient exam? I've been getting eye exams for 30+ years and this is by far the most I've ever paid(significantly so). Lastly there is a bit of pressure to buy from in house optical store. Based on the initial deal they offered on my contacts for the year, I felt like i could get a better deal shopping around for myself as i've done in the past. Especially after raking me w a $300 eye exam. Makes one a little skeptical right off the bat. So while checking out stinging from the exam price, I just wanted to get my RX and shop independently for my contacts and there were just multiple attempts to try to get me to buy in house from them when i felt like the deal just wasn't as competitive (Especially after an $300 exam.) They seemed to be about 20 to 25% higher on price for contacts unless I ordred 8 boxes for the entire year and had fun with a mail in rebate (Uh It's 2024 and done playing the rebate game). Its definitely corporate owned franchise and incentive based so i get it and i don't blame them for trying to make a buck but its getting bad out there from the consumer side. I did end up ordering my contacts for the deal they said i wouldn't get without hidden fees/upcharges/shipping etc. And i have ordered online many many times without any issues despite their warnings of ordering online. I make a good living and i could have afforded paying the higher prices but i definitely need to get back to finding an independent shop that truly has fair baked in without needing to haggle.

Dr. Nima Naik is absolutely the best. I highly recommend this business. I tried a few other places and none had the kind of customer service I have recd from Carolina Family Vision.
