We had a great time. Sean was awesome, very easygoing, friendly, and knowledgeable. He even gave me some tips about cooking the many fish we caught. Highly recommend!

We were not welcomed on board. “ Go into the saloon and sit down.” The captain did not tell us his name, we had to ask. Be sure to bring all your own coffee, food, water etc. toilet paper was provided. He berated and yelled at the experienced older mate who drove the boat every few minutes through out the day. The first hour in Gulf waters he switched between two rigs bringing up some Bluetile while we watched.. he never asked during the two hour cruise to the fishing areas what we were anticipating for the day or what any of our options were or if we even had any. We were more like an imposition into his day. He did not explain how to use or handle the bigger fishing rigs yet yelled several times when he thought we were not doing it right. Even threatened to put them away if we didn’t follow his directions more exactly. ( Glad the strawberry ice cream did not come up missing… sorry.. classical reference) We had about 15 minutes of good fishing amid his yells and counter yells and did catch two larger fish on the bigger rigs before he started putting the rigs away and washing down the boat again.. our clue that we were heading back. And be sure to count out your money in front of him so he cannot say later that it was short.

10 hours = 15 minutes of us actively fishing, 7 hours of riding in a boat, 2 hours of watching Shawn clean his boat and 45 minutes of listening to Shawn yell at Harper, his 1st mate, and talk down to us. We felt as though we were bothering him by being there. The nicest Shawn was, was when he was about to get paid. We counted the cash twice and he came to us saying the envelope was short. Funny how cash went "missing". Be sure you are present when he counts the money.

We caught fish on a difficult day of fishing. Sean is great to work with, very knowledgeable and is willing to teach you something while you fish. I would recommend this charter.
