Captain Mike was a stellar navigator, and Teddy was an entertaining and knowledgeable first mate. This was the perfect trip for a guy's outing while on OBX celebrating a birthday. If you like the idea of old-fashioned boats, and a life full of good fish stories, I would highly recommend checking out albatross. We didn't catch anything big, because we did the half-day and stayed close to shore. We caught tons of fish though, and they turned into amazing tacos with pounds more to bring home. This fishing trip will be a memory we'll be sharing for a long time.

We had a great day on the water with Capt. Bryan running the boat and Capt. Sumner as mate. Bryan called early to let us know that is was going to be very rough, but not unsafe, and gave us the option to go or reschedule. We decided to go and he was right, it was rough. We missed a wahoo bite on the way out, then went 2 for 3 (or 4) on sailfish. A couple of Mahi, small balckfin, and a bonus big yellowfin tuna ensured that we had more than enough for dinner. Captain and crew were extremely friendly, informative, and professional. You can immediately tell that they are proud of their boats and the incredible history behind them. While they are not the fastest boats in the fleet, they are clean, well maintained, and more that capable of raising fish. It's a rarity these days to find a Captain and crew that don't yell at cuss at each other all day and work hard to not only find fish, but make sure everyone is comfortable and having a great time. We will be back soon!

We booked a near shore trip with the Albatross Fleet and Capt Mike and Aiden, the deck hand, did a fantastic job. Both Capt Mike and Aiden were professional, personable and very helpful. These two are top notch team! We got on the Blue Fish early, and had an action packed trip. After limiting out on Blue Fish, we caught Spanish mackerel, lizard fish, tuna and lost a nice size Albacore. Capt Mike cleaned the fish right on the dock and Aiden provided us with some great tasting recipes to prepare the fish. Capt Mike and Aiden were great with the kids, and all their questions. I would highly recommend the Albatross Fleet! they have a ton of experience on the waters, and will do all they can to find the fish and make your experience the best they can.

Spend a little more for a reputable charter. This is the second time I attempted to fish with them. The first time the boat was old, the equipment was outdated, and the captain was unfriendly, but we caught a couple fish and it was cheap as far as charters go so I decided to try again. Huge mistake. After the captain cancelled the first time due to weather which turned out to be a decent day. We rescheduled to a day later that week. That day turned out to be bad weather and my party was leaving so we could not reschedule. I provided my info to the charter and was told I would be refunded my deposit. I waited a month and it never came. I attempted to contact them multiple times but have not received a reply. Apparently this is how they treat disabled veterans and returning customers. I am now having to dispute charges with my bank and contact a lawyer in order to get my refund back. Please be smart and pay the extra money for a decent charter. These guys give charter boats a bad name.
