Gate City Renovations

I called to see about roof repair and told them that contractor had indicated there were soft spots and flashing problems. Gate city told me there might be hail damage and if so, insurance might cover the cost. I was told they would try to get someone out to look at the roof but not given any time or day. Sunday afternoon, two trucks pulled up in front of the house. About 10 minutes later a guy came to the door and said they were here to check the roof for Gail damage. They said the roof looked new and asked when it was replaced. I told them I had owned the house for four years and had not had any roof work done. I also told them that the issue was a water leak from the porch that was directing water behind the siding, into the wall and damaging the interior drywall. They went up on the roof and left without telling me anything. An insurance adjuster looked at the damage and determined that flashing was missing, insufficient caulk and missing kickout caused the issue. Insurance suggested I find out who replaced the roof and contact them for repair. Turns out Gate city was the company that replaced the roof. Thursday, I called them to find out what they determined when they examined the roof because I had not heard back. I was told there was no signs of hail damage. I asked about the issue I had called about and was told they were only interested in new roof work, not repairs. I informed them that they had replaced this roof. They said they did not understand what missing flashing meant and that caulk was the homeowners responsibility. They said the installation had a 5 year warranty which was expired. They provided the number of their subcontractor that handles issues like mine and told me it would save me money to contact him directly and that he was likely to have done the work previously. U called, a child answered. I asked for a callback byg never received one. Another company looked at the damage and said the flashing wasn't done correctly, there were exposed nails, the siding was damaged during roof replacement and joints were never caulked. They also indicated that this same area had a repair attempt since the roof was replaced. The prior owners had the roof replaced two years before I purchased the home so they would have called gatecity for any issues with the new roof. I am including photos so that readers can judge the quality themselves.

Daniel and his staff have done interior and exterior painting for us. Most recently they pressure washed our exterior, repaired rotten wood, and painted our exterior. They always do a beautiful job. All of the staff are professional, and polite, and punctual. I would highly recommend them!!!

I was recommended gate city renovations by our realtor. Moving into a new area, I was nervous about hiring contractors. Daniel and his crew were amazing! I had 3 rooms plus a large bathroom that needed painting. They finished in a day!!! The crew were kind, respectful, neat and did great work! I highly recommend gate city renovations!
