We called the "old" Fletcher Limestone about getting a load loaded on our small toyota truck (white gravel) - she priced the different sizes/per ton, etc - we drove all the way to this company - which is now Old Castle (we are not impressed) - when we called - she didn't saw anything about a "scale" minimum charge of $ 40 - and for a homeowner needing just a Toyota truck load - the cost was ridiculous - w/ the "go across the scale-add-on fee" that she did not mention when she priced the prices. She lacked MAJOR customer service skills on the phone - and in person - she was worse - she had a prune face - didn't greet us when we came into the sales/office - and acted like we were "crazy" when we said we had called and that she had not mentioned the scale charge. It was evident by her demeanor that she could have cared less whether she sold white gravel or not - we couldn't wait to get out of her office - and my husband said "upon leaving and going home - with her hatefulness - even if she had "waived" the scale charge for such a small load - he would not have bought anything from this yard. We drove to Fletcher FEED SEED and supply and quess what - they had white gravel and they loaded us a 1/2 load on our truck - which was the perfect amount - and charged us $ 24.00 - they are a "local" business - and we wanted to tell OLD CASTLE - you may have come to our area - but you won't be staying here long - cause you all are not our "type" of vendors ! !
