Got fish full of bones twice in a row. Called to complain. Manager said they can't see inside the fish... Are you kidding me. Haven't been back since.

We have always been big fans of Kemp's, and this weekend we had an exceptional dining experience. The jumbo scallops are always our favorite thing on the menu, and although they were beautifully cooked this time they tasted a little different from what we regularly get at Kemp's. So, we inquired about the change and the owner apologized that our order was not what we expected. He asked if he could get us anything else...we love the catfish so we ordered it instead. While we were waiting for the catfish, they also brought out a plate of bay scallops and oysters for us to enjoy! Too generous, but so delicious! All of the food was perfectly cooked and the portions were HUGE! We were most surprised when we got the bill and saw that not only had they NOT charged us for the scallops, they also didn't charge us for the catfish or sampler plate. When we tried to get the owner to charge us for the catfish entree, he wouldn't let us pay for the additional food. We were very happy customers and really appreciated the owner's more than generous gesture to make sure that we were satisfied. By far, Kemp's is the best seafood in Raleigh...we will definitely be back for more shrimp and scallops soon!
