Bravo Professional Contractors #1 goal is to provide great customer service, quality workmanship, and a fair market value for all our customers. However, after 20+ years in this industry, we understand that every job, and every customer may not be the best fit for our company. In an effort to maintain our professional tract record here is our account. We met with this customer on March 8, 2023 for his exterior painting consultation. On March 14, 2023, he asked for two references and pictures of previous work. Although references and pictures of previous work were included in the proposal. On March 16, 2023, he requested to personally speak with two previous customers. We could not give him their numbers, but with his permission we gave his number to them. After several attempts, they could only leave voicemails. On April 10, 2023, the customer was ready to sign his contract but didn’t agree to our standard payment terms (60% deposit). His reasoning was based on an issue he experienced out of state before moving to Charlotte. He agreed to a progress based payment structure (40% deposit, 30% after the “wood repairs'' and pressure washing, 30% final payment). Based on the modified payment terms, his availability to communicate was extremely important. Unfortunately, numerous times we were either waiting outside his home for answers, and being told that he was busy with work. On April 19,2023, the wood repairs and pressure washing was completed, and we received the 30% payment. He gave the green light for the painting to begin. In full transparency, there were some areas we had to correct. An area of caulking that he wanted completely removed and re-caulked, along with some wood replacement that was corrected. We had our project lead address the concerns by fixing the areas brought to our attention. He also added more carpentry work that wasn’t originally contracted. If our workmanship on the rotten wood replacement was “shoddy”, why would this customer request that we complete even more wood replacement for him? On April 27th, the customer sent our Operations Manager an apology via text for raising his voice at him, and said that it was uncalled for and not directed at him. Regarding the trim paint, we explained the color would be as "close as possible", if we didn’t have the original paint color/color code. The customer was going to look in his garage but we never received it. Based on timing, we had to use a piece of the trim to obtain a match at the paint store that was ultimately approved by this customer. We taped off sections of his home so overspray would not get on the brick. Unfortunately, there was inclement weather that caused some paper to fly off to areas unbeknownst to us during an off day. We would never intentionally see paper on the ground and leave it there. On April 29, 2023 the customer said he was "satisfied" and made the final payment of $2,968.50 upon completion. Around late July, we discovered a letter from the bank regarding $900 being deducted due to the written amount and the box amount being different. We sent a photo copy of the check with the letter from the bank. His response was “If I made a mistake I'll pay. I had hoped to never hear from bravo professional service ever again.” He requested proof from our statements, along with a breakdown of what he paid. We provided a screen shot showing the $900.00 deducted from our account, along with a full breakdown of what he paid in the stages of the project. On August 13th, 2023 the customer sent the $900.00 via Zelle and the next morning we received a 1-star review. Since then, we have pondered the true motive of this review. Why did this customer clearly state he was satisfied with our work, and render the final payment if he was unhappy with “shoddy” workmanship? Why would any customer pay for work close to $10k if the workmanship was unsatisfactory? We will use this as a learning experience, and only wish the best for the customer.
