Would NEVER recommend Charlotte Van and Storage or their parent company, UNIGROUP, comprising both Mayflower and United Moving Companies. Too bad zero stars is not a rating option.Over 75% of my furniture was damaged. We had to salvage an armoire valued at $10,000.00 because of two holes, one 6 inches in diameter, the other 3 inches in diameter, caused by moving group. We had to salvage a beautiful white damask Southwood sofa because of stains and grease marks that could not be removed by cleaners. This sofa left our home completely encased in plastic wrap; it arrived to us with no covering at all and looked as if it had been used regularly for breaks in the movers’ warehouse. A fully wrapped and boxed king mattress and box spring were irreparably damaged. I could go on and on. I paid for FULL VALUE PROTECTION insurance for 12000 lbs of furniture giving me $72,000.00 of coverage. UNIGROUP made the claims process difficult, repetitive and oh so lengthy. One year and 3 months after our move, UNIGROUP finally settled our claim. We had an antique grandfather clock specially packed and crated by Unigroup’s third party packing contractor at extra costs to us. We received the clock and the crating was broken and cracked; our clock face was damaged and wood case was separated and the clock would no longer run. And to top it all, UNIGROUP could NOT find a qualified fine furniture repair person in all of Jacksonville, FL, the largest and most populated metropolitan area in Florida. I ended up finding the appropriate repair person myself effectively doing UNIGROUP’s job for them. Our move was a disaster using Charlotte Van and Storage and Unigroup. I suggest using another moving and storage company. Services: Out-of-county removals, Storage, Vehicle transport, Oversized item removals, Packing/unpacking
