I used to enjoy this course until it (like the other Carolina Trail Courses) started having financial troubles. It was finally shut down recently. I imagine it will reopen again under new management. I hope it does as it is a nice course, when well maintained, and is easy to get to. I used to like going to the Hickory Tavern right next door after a round! 4/25/14 Apparently, this review was flagged as inappropriate. I am not sure why but perhaps it is because of the link to a Charlotte Observer article about the shut down. I am removing that link.

Customer service is non existent. Staff is rude. Course is barely maintained with greens that are essentially cement even after weeks worth of rain. Place is poorly maintained and in dire need of a cash infusion. Carts are worn out and often run out of juice midway through a round. I played there for 8 straight weeks in a golf league and they will never get another dime from me. Much better courses for quality and friendliness with in minutes.

Ok. Played in April and the fairways were like August. Dry and hard. Restrooms and carpet needed a good cleaning. Stay was very nice. Greens were ok.
