El Dorado Authentic Mexican

This is the Mexican restaurant we frequent the most around Raleigh. The food is very good - we enjoy the fajitas - they always seem freshly prepared. The salsa tastes great, and the prices are very good for what we order. We are always treated well, no complaints on cleanliness or atmosphere. We know going in here we will have a consistently good meal.

The service was great! ... but unfortunately, the food was below average. I have been to numerous Mexican restaurants around the Triangle area and many more outside (including other "El Dorado" restaurant). The chips were very "oily"/greasy... The sauce for the chips was ok. I ordered "Special Dinner", my son ordered chicken enchiladas, and my wife ordered "arroz con pollo" (rice with chicken). In my order the rice was very greasy (for some reason), the chile relleno was very good, but the burritos and enchilada was very bad. My wife liked the chicken in her order. However, she didn't like the rice. My son told me that from a scale 1-10 he will give a 5 to the chicken enchiladas. This was my first time there. I may need to give it a try again. However, I may not go there again since I was not impressed with the food and since we have so many other choices around the triangle....
