I graduated in May of 2021 after finishing my Masters and Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. The course work can be really difficult but the knowledge gained from four years of rigorous work doesnt compare with many other schools. Daoist Traditions is one of a few schools that teach classical perspectives of Chinese Medicine, in addition to in-depth channel systems including the eight extraordinary, luo, primary, and sinew meridians. If youre up for really dedicating four years of your life to a life changing school and career experience to help your community stay healthy, this is the school for you.

I'm sorry to see the poor reviews here!  I graduated in 2018 and had an immensely positive experience.  Yes, the journey was challenging, and I wrestled with fatigue, frustration, feelings of inadequacy, and the need to blame- many times.  However, I have the gift of hindsight now.  The overall result of my education was a complete transformation of the way I look at the world.  I have become a healer, in a world that is desperate for healing.  I am so grateful for all of my teachers, and the faculty and administration at Daoist Traditions.  I felt that each and every one of them cared about my education and wellbeing. I was a transfer student from a TCM school, and I also have many friends who attended other Chinese Medicine schools.  I can honestly say that I feel my education was the best.  The wealth of information and wisdom from Jeffrey Yuen is unparalleled, and the small cohort classroom setting was clutch (I am still very close most of my class).  Daoist Traditions also did a great job of preparing for those pesky board exams.  Upon graduating, I felt very prepared to start the next phase of my Path.

As can probably be gleaned from the reviews, this program is intensive and requires one to dedicate onself fully to learning and living the medicine. Just like a catalytic chamber, the intensive workload creates a milieu where students are forced to face themselves in order to become more coherent healing presences. Like still water with sand at the bottom of the glass, we do not know what resides in the internal terrain to transmute necessarily until perceived turbulence shakes it up. Like flowing water, when one moves with the winds of change without resistance, the Daoist influence of this program can help us grow in unimaginable ways. As I near graduation in my 4th year at this institution, I have come to realize that centering oneself in the heart can pave the way for perception that is hard when seen through the mind filter of past experience that might negativity color a worldview. Daoist Traditions is a beautiful place of heart-centered learning and growth led by knowledgeable practitioners who also walk the path of cultivation. Come to this school if you would like the opportunity to become more of your true self in order to serve as a healing presence for others.

The free Herbal Consultation was the most in-depth medical consultation I've ever had. I had a remote session with Patricia, a Masters degree graduate student with several years of practice in acupuncture and eastern medicine, along with a panel of remote students who were learning and assisting Patricia and the instructor with developing a personalized herbal formulation for my specific issues as determined during the consultation. All in attendance were highly professional and very knowledgeable with Eastern medicine practices and holistic healthcare. The college and clinic are a true hidden gem in Asheville, and one of the premiere Eastern medicine colleges on the east coast. I *highly* recommend calling them to schedule an appt for both/either a herbal and/or acupuncture session.
