Off the Square

Hands down best place for eating out Ive visited so far in Albemarle! Great quality food, amazing ambience and spectacular hosts. The owner is very welcoming and personally takes interest in making sure youre catered to. Got confused cos now the name has been changed (most likely with change of ownership). Certainly coming back!

It's actually called the courthouse now. It's a great, clean place to eat. I've never had deep-fried Brussel sprouts, so I gave them a try and dug em. Loved the fried green tomatoes, hard to find a place that does them properly around here. Also, I had an oyster shooter, and those are hard to find anywhere! It's not as good as I've had in mexico, but if you've never tried it... you should. It's a shot of vodka with hot sauce and spices with a raw oyster in it. Both of our sandwiches were great, and so were the truffle fries :) Will defo be going back as there are so many good-looking/sounding items on the menu.

Had the butcher block special, very little actual beef and the rice was not fully cooked, disappointing for the price

Menu slightly offbeat/upbeat. Grilled chicken with pimento cheese double burger with grilled onions. Calamari as a special. Shout out to service and atmosphere. Cold water service in carafes.
