Your Tutor World

I am writing this as a strong warning for other parents. I hired Dan at Your Tutor World for the past year to teach my daugher Chemistry and Math. I repeatedly asked Dan how my daughter was progressing and specifically whether she would be able to take her Regents examinations which was the goal. He confidently and repatedly assured me that she was doing very well and would have no difficulty passing the exam. 4 weeks from the exam date it became clear that they had not completed the course material nor was she close to passing a practice test. I had to hire a college student who provided a more meaningful educational experience and hopefully she can pass chemistry. Math has been given up as she was unable to understand or answer the majority of questions on the practice exam. I am ultimately responsible and should have asked for some quantifiable measure of her progress. My obvious mistake was trusting Your Tutor World and Dan. The cost of his service came to almost $10, 000 and we may have nothing to show for the effort or the money. The other issue has been his lack of professionaim. As soon as my daughter had another tutor she commented that although she was fond of Dan she was frustrated by how much time he spent on the phone and distracted. Again, I should have been more aware but I work and come home only at the end of their session. I have never written a review but felt compelled to warn parents in hopes they avoid our experience- this is a tremdous set back for my daughter and clearly he can't be trusted.
