The search for a good dinner restaurant during our weekend visit to Lake George was frustrating...reviews warning of crowds, mediocre food, and unwarranted prices, so we expanded our search to neighboring villages and decided on Lizzie Keays. It did not disappoint! While it does not offer the unique atmosphere afforded by lakeside dining, the setting is charming, romantic and relaxing nonetheless. More importantly, the food, from the shrimp cocktail appetizer to the perfectly cooked steaks (she had the flat iron and I had the rib eye) accompanied by house salad and mashed potato and veggie sides, was outstanding. All of that plus the friendly and attentive service provided by Darian and the good value (not to mention the peace and quiet of avoiding the crowds in Lake George) makes Lizzie Keays a truly hidden gem.
