American food, mmm, very satisfying. Visited at eight, it was not full. Looking forward to coming back with my relatives.

Terrible experience at ALEE'S tonight. We had a group of 12  people here to celebrate our neighbors retirement. We made the reservation in late January, so that we could get a private room .The woman who took the reservation on the phone told us that  in case the size of our group changed, that we had to call them within 24 hours and we assured them we would all be there. Well, the 12 of us arrived at 5:55 for our 6:00 reservation and immediately noticed that the private room we requested was already occupied. The hostess couldn't  find our reservation in their book and said that they couldn't accommodate us as they were full. I told her that there must be a mistake as we were assured in January that we could use the private room for our party. The hostess didn't seem to care at all and just kept saying that they had no room to us. Being that we had 12 people expecting to be seated, and that it would be difficult to find another place at 6:00 on a Saturday night, I asked to speak to the manager, expecting some kind of accommodation. After about 5 minutes, a woman came out and said she was the owner. I explained to her that we called in January for this reservation and that we were all here, would be more than likely spending over $600, and had nowhere else to go. She said with a straight face that they had no record of our reservation  and that all she could offer us was her (indifferent) sincere apology. ( Basically, just go away and don't bother us.) That was it. We had 12 people standing in the hallway, and that was the best she could do. Then she just left us standing there. Most restaurants would have sincerely apologized, offered everyone in the party a free drink while they found a way to get some tables together and accommodate us. This owner gave us the cold shoulder. We had no choice but to leave. Luckily, we were able to move our party over to Hotel Utica, and had a wonderful meal. ( No thanks to ALEE'S and their non-existent customer service. We don't plan on going back. )
