Bear Mountain Inn

Stayed at the Overlook Lodge Friday-Sunday. The facility and room are a little dated, but clean and comfortable. However, an event (a teen's birthday party) in the basement during the day on Saturday rendered our room uninhabitable for 5-6 hours. The party was completely unchecked by management with music so loud that the pictures on our walls and glasses on tables were literally vibrating and shaking. What is advertised as a peaceful facility was anything but. When asked about the party (its duration and why the volume was unchecked), the front desk lady was dismissive, rolled her eyes and refused to ask management to look into it. We had to leave the facility for several hours until it was over.

I cannot express enough how much I loved staying at Bear Mountain Inn! My boyfriend and I planned a last minute trip here and from before we even booked the trip, Bear Mountain Inn was extremely helpful and accommodating. Commuting from the city can be confusing and they were very helpful with instructions (if you're planning on coming from NYC, use Coach USA! Drops you off right in front of the hotel). They also were kind enough to give us early check-in since our bus dropped us off so early! We stayed in one of the cottages and it was so clean and cozy. The resort itself has plenty to offer and is incredibly beautiful. We did not go to the restaurant, but the front desk was kind enough to give us a list of places that deliver to the hotel which was so helpful. Check-out is 11am, but our bus was not arriving until 5pm. The front desk was beyond kind enough to let us leave our bags in the lobby so we could enjoy a few more hours of the resort. I never write Google reviews, but I had to for the Inn. Thank you Bear Mountain Inn for such an amazing experience!!!

Wanted to give it five stars, but couldnt because of a couple facts; 1. So tired of hearing due to Covid the rooms do not get cleaned. Something like only if you stay past 5 nights (came Sunday leaving Friday). On our way out this morning, my wife and I asked if we can get fresh towels, coffee as well the garbage taken from our room. The front desk gentleman was very kind wrote everything down and sure enough, we returned around noon there were fresh towels and coffee (K cups) in our room on the chair as you walk in. Wouldve been nice if they taken the garbage from the bathroom not just near the coffee bar area as well the towels on the bathroom floor. Enough already. Just like the airlines continually looking for ways to cut back and still charge the same prior to Covid. 2. Went to Restaurant 1915 Sunday afternoon, Had a couple drinks ordered fries and pork back ribs to go. They were getting ready to close which I dont blame them, the weather was terrible was not many people there. Get to the room and the ribs, tasty but so tiny, 2 had a decent amount of meat on them the other 2, you have to be kidding me, hardly any meat. Very very puny 4 ribs! Im not putting pictures up because I wanna see what they have to say,. Im sure management will come on and say I shouldve brought it up to them at the time we were there and they would of handle it. OK well if this is up before we leave, were listening, here until Friday!. I will say all employees are very very nice its just a shame that management in my opinion tries to circumvent the COVID-19 situation.
