        Stopped here for a quick lunch with Mom while driving in the area. Nice simple neighborhood restaurant. I enjoyed my lunch of bratwurst and baked apples. I'd definitely come back.

        One of Staten Islands best and classic spots. You will be missed. My family have been going there since they were children. It was the first place my wife and I went to eat. She said she wanted a Reuben sandwich and I said I have the perfect spot (she is from NJ). When this bank opens, the last thing we need, I will order a a reuben and some red cabbage.

        I'm so glad I went to go on the last day and get a Hot Pastrami and a Hot Corned Beef sandwiches to go.....it was so worth it...I wish all at Schaeffer Tavern good luck with your next endeavors
