Recently, I received a speeding ticket in Staten Island, and being a first-time offender, I was unsure of what to do except hire a lawyer. I looked around and chose this individual. This was a complete mistake. I took the driver Point reduction course and I had a lot of evidence set up to try to convince the judge to be lenient on his penalty.
Many people explained that it would be a more prudent idea to try to earn favor with the judge and show respect rather than challenge the officer and the judge. Not only did my lawyer not use any of my evidence, she completely botched the cross-examination, failed to reduce any of my points, didn't show the officer or the judge my certificate, didn't show any of my evidence to try to sway the judge, and almost a month later, she has still not taken any of her payment from the check that I had given her, causing a lot of disruptions with my attempts to keep my checkbook balanced.
In addition, other lawyers I have asked and showing the ticket said that only did this individual do a poor job, but they could have gotten the points reduced with little effort. A careless mistake I made was made even worse because of her. Do not hire this individual.
Add on: She just withdrew her payment today, 5-18-16. Very inefficient and impractical timing.
