My family will be going on our fourth year with VPPS (I have three sons) and I feel so deeply thankful to have found a school for my boys where they have been cared for with genuine affection by the teachers and given a strong academic head start in preparation for kindergarten.
In the 4 year old program, they are taught sight words and letter sounds, etc. My kindergartener is one of a few in his class who can read, and my 3 year old is already reading, and has learned how to write his entire alphabet thanks to his nurturing teachers who sincerely ENJOY teaching him (he's a funny guy :D )
The kids put on a number of plays throughout the year, theyve gone on so many field trips (to the firehouse, to borellas farm for pumpkin picking, to Benner's farm, to McCarthur airport, to see the nutcracker performed in patchogue.)
The sense of community is very strong here, the staff and directors are intelligent, experienced, and love what they do.
